2026-2027第十五届【百川奖】国际作曲比赛章程



一、总则

pa视讯官方平台的前身国立音乐院创办于1927年,作为中国第一所独立建制的高等音乐学府,2027年适逢建校百年,特举办“百年回响——2026-2027第十五届【百川奖】国际作曲比赛”,面向全球征集管弦乐作品。

本比赛旨在促进广泛的国内外音乐交流;鼓励作曲家对中西乐器融合进行富有探索性的创作;打造推出优秀原创音乐作品的高端平台。


二、组织机构

评委:由国内外著名作曲家、指挥家、演奏家、理论家等组成


三、比赛要求

1.作品内容

反映时代精神,兼具思想性、艺术性、可听性,作曲技术新颖,富有艺术感染力。同时,为迎接2027年pa视讯官方平台建校百年,并推动精品佳作的诞生,参赛作品须融入以下指定作曲家作品的音高材料(参见表1

2.参赛要求

本比赛不收取报名费;参赛作曲家无国籍和地区限制,年龄须40周岁以下(198611日以后出生)。每人限提交1作品。

3.作品要求

1)作品须为本人原创,未曾以任何形式发表(包括演出、获奖、出版等)。

2)“指定作品”音高材料的运用手法,须在总谱扉页的作品简介中加以说明。

3)作品时长:10-15分钟,其具体时长须在作品扉页注明。

4)编制要求:作品须为双管或三管编制的管弦乐队而作(含协奏曲),如为协奏曲,必须为件中国民族器乐独奏(竹笛或箫、琵琶、二胡、古筝、笙,其乐器表见附件)与管弦乐队而作。不接受与预制录音或电子音乐相关的作品。

4.报名所需材料

电子文件(按照电子邮箱):在截稿日期前,将以下资料:(1)一份清晰的乐谱(PDF格式),乐谱须匿名;(2)一份正确填写的并由参赛者签名的报名表;(3一张清晰的证件照片;(4)一张有效身份证或护照(有参赛者照片及出生日期页)照片,以电子文件的方式发送到: racc@shcmusic.edu.cn

5.截稿日期

2026109日(星期五)下午5:00之前,将报名材料发送至指定邮箱。如需咨询或有任何疑问,参赛者可与比赛办公室联系。

6.其他说明

不符合以上比赛条款者将取消参赛资格(组委会、评委会成员不得有作品参赛),参赛资料由主办方妥善存档,一律不予退还。

四、评选办法

1.为保证比赛的公平公正,参赛作品将统一编号进行匿名评选。

2.日程安排:

220261018日之前:第一轮评选(遴10部入围作品)

3202611上海当代音乐节期间:第二轮评选(乐队试奏,遴选6部决赛作品

420279-11:决赛(决赛音乐会,评选出6个作品奖项等级)

说明:此奖项由乐团指挥与演奏家构成的评审团评定。

(以上委约费均含税。为维护比赛的严肃性、权威性,根据实际情况个别奖项可以空缺。)

【百川奖】组委会将与获奖者签订一份作品创作委约合同。


五、【百川奖】决赛音乐会、颁奖仪式

1.入围决赛的作曲家须出席决赛音乐会。交通费和比赛期间在上海的住宿费由主办方承担。

2. 决赛音乐会结束,当场产生评选结果,并举行颁奖仪式。


六、其他

1.相关权利:

        ① 获奖者拥有作品著作权。

获奖者须同意无偿提供并授予主办方如下权利:

a.主办方有权对获奖作品的乐谱以及任何形式的声像制品作非商业性使用;

b.主办方拥有获奖作品的首演权以及演出和出版优先权。

获奖作品无论在何处上演,根据获奖等级,其乐谱封面或音乐会节目单上需注明本次比赛的获奖信息,例如:本作品获得2026-2027第十五届【百川奖】国际作曲比赛一等奖”。

2.评委会对比赛的评定,为本比赛不可改变的最后决定。

3.比赛另有三份附件,详见网页底部(可下载)。

15th “Rivers Awards” International Composition Competition(2026-2027)

Competition Rules & Regulations —



I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

The predecessor of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music(SHCM), the National Conservatory of Music, was founded in 1927. As China’s first independent institution of higher musical education, the Conservatory will mark its centenary in 2027. In celebration of this occasion, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music hereby launches “Echoes of a Century — 2026–2027: The 15th ‘Rivers Awards’ International Composition Competition,” calling for orchestral works from composers worldwide.

The competition aims to:

· promote broad musical exchange in China and internationally;

· encourage exploratory composition integrating Chinese and Western instruments; and

· provide a high-level platform for the presentation and promotion of outstanding original works.


II. ORGANIZING BODIES

Organizer: Shanghai Conservatory of Music
Host Department: Composition and Conducting Department, Shanghai Conservatory of Music
Jury:The jury will consist of renowned domestic and international composers, conductors, performers, and scholars.


III. COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Content Requirements

Submitted works should reflect the spirit of the times and combine intellectual depth, artistic quality, and listenability, featuring innovative compositional technique and strong expressive impact.

To celebrate the Conservatory’s centenary in 2027 and foster the creation of exemplary new works, each submission must incorporate pitch material drawn from the following designated works (see table below, scores in Appendix I).

2. Eligibility and Entry Rules

        · No application fee is charged.

        · The competition is open to composers of all nationalities and regions.

        · Applicants must be under 40 years of age (born on or after January 1, 1986).

        · A composer is allowed to enter one (1) work.

3. Work Specifications

       1. The work must be the applicant’s original creation and must not have been published in any form, including performance, awards, or publication.

       2. The method of using pitch material from the designated works must be explained in the work description on the title page of the full score.

       3. Duration: 10–15 minutes. The exact duration must be indicated on the title page.

       4. Instrumentation: the work must be written for a double- or triple-woodwind orchestra (concertos permitted). If submitting a concerto, it must be for one Chinese traditional instrument soloist (dizi笛子, also xiao, pipa琵琶, erhu二胡, guzheng古筝, or sheng笙; see Appendix II) and orchestra.

       5. Works employing pre-recorded audio or electronic music are not accepted.

        Maximum orchestra size:

        Woodwinds: 3.3.3.3

        Brass: 4.3.3.1

        Percussion: Timpani (1 player), standard percussion (4 players)

        Harp (1)

        Piano (1)

        Strings: 14.12.10.8.6

4. Application Materials (by email)

Before the deadline, submit the following electronic files to the designated email address:

        1. Clearly legible and anonymous PDF score;

        2. Completed application form, signed by the applicant;

        3. A clear ID photo;

        4. Photocopy of a valid ID card or passport (page showing the applicant’s photo and date of birth).

5. Deadline

All application materials must be emailed by 5:00 p.m.,Friday, October9, 2026.

6. Additional Notes

Applicants who do not meet the above requirements will be disqualified. (Members of the Organizing Committee and Jury may not submit works.) All submitted materials will be properly archived by the organizer and will not be returned.

IV. SELECTION PROCESS

        1. To ensure fairness and impartiality, all submissions will be assigned codes and judged anonymously.

        2. Schedule:

        · October 9th, 2026: Submission deadline

        · Before October 18,2026: Round 1 (10 shortlisted works selected)

        · During the Shanghai Contemporary Music Festival in November 2026: Round 2 (orchestra reading; 6 finalist works selected)

        ·September-November 2027: Final round (final concert; six award categories)

        3. Awards and commissions:

        The competition awards: 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize, 3 Excellence Awards, and 1 Orchestra Award.

        (1) Official awards (granted as a commission fee):

        First Prize: USD 12,000.00

        Second Prize: USD 5,000.00

        Third Prize: USD 2,000.00

        Excellence Award: USD 1,000.00

        (2) Special award:

        Orchestra Award (granted as a commission fee): USD 1,000.00

        This award is granted by a jury consisting of the orchestra’s conductor and musicians.

(All commission fees are tax-inclusive. To maintain the seriousness and authority of the competition, certain prizes may be left vacant depending on circumstances.)

The Rivers Awards Organizing Committee will sign a commissioning contract with each prizewinner.


V.FINAL CONCERT AND AWARD CEREMONY

       1. Finalists must attend the final concert. The organizer will cover travel expenses and accommodation in Shanghai during the competition period.

       2. Results will be decided immediately after the final concert, followed by an on-site award ceremony.


VI. MISCELLANEOUS

       1. Rights:

       i.Prize winners retain the copyright to their works.

       ii. Prizewinners must agree to provide the organizer, free of charge, with the following rights:

       a) the right to make non-commercial use of the score and any audio-visual recordings in any form;

       b) the organizer holds the premiere right, as well as priority rights for performance and publication.

       iii. Whenever an awarded work is performed anywhere, the score cover or concert program must indicate the prize, for example: “This work won First Prize in the 15th (2026-2027) ‘Rivers Awards’ International Composition Competition.”

       2. The Jury’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.

       3. The competition includes additional attachments; see the bottom of the webpage (downloadable).

       4. The right of interpretation of these regulations belongs to the Organizing Committee.
